WELCOME - In August 2011, Marktrade Music released my rock album called Mongrel. I did most of the work on this one, but some of my musician friends cowrote songs and/or contributed remarkable performances (click the "Mongrel Materials" button above to see them). On the right you can buy the Mongrel album or any individual song. You can also listen to all of Mongrel on the streaming audio player for free. The Great American Song Contest awarded the song "Between The Two" from Mongrel a "Finalist" award as one of the top 5 Rock/Alt. songs of 2011 in that contest.

Some songs on Mongrel would work well as sound tracks in films. If you're interested in licensing one of these songs for use in a film, please click the "Contact" button above and send me an email. I have another hundred songs or so that I'm working on together with various friends in various configurations. Some of these will be appearing as Mark Schleunes albums on this website at the rate of approximately one per year. An electronica album is scheduled for August 2012 release, followed by a "mellow spacy" album, a country album and an album of novelty tunes.
